Telegraph Instruments of Europe- PAGE 13

Polydor Lippens was the only Belgian person that has designed telegraphs. This ABC model is from 1852. Up you see the receiver. The transmission was done with the handle. In between, the primitive galvanometer. The inside, including a bell (for which he also got a patent), is really nice! I am very proud to have this second double needle telegraph by Cooke and Wheatstone of the early 1840’s.

A look inside this double needle telegraph. A very rare and early model (ca. 1845) of the single needle telegraph by Cooke & Wheatstone. A look inside, from the back. The coding (not yet morse !) for the alphabetic characters.

The coding for the figures and some special messages. E.g. The famous mirror galvanometer by William Thomson, the later Lord Kelvin The coils with the mirror inside. A siphon recorder by Muirhead (UK).

Detail of the siphon. Another model of a Wheatstone high speed receiver. The backside of this Wheatstone receiver. Very early model of a double tapper key.

Telegraph made by the Dutch company Caminada in Rotterdam (NL). This is an example of the famous Briggs induction coil (pat 1873). The label of this coil. A kind of a Key on Board with a buzzer by ATM (England).

Demonstration/toy ABC telegraph by Breton Frères (Paris). It was already in their catalogue of 1852! This is a 8 x 8 matrix switch allowing different terminals to be switched to different lines.
